Hi, I’m Em and I believe that yoga can change the world
Yoga found me at a time in my life when the clouds were sitting heavily - I felt directionless. One day I stumbled upon an ashtanga yoga class in a dusty sports hall. As I started practising regularly something began to shift. I slowly felt stronger, more mobile, I learnt to breathe better.
The more time I spent on the mat the calmer I felt. I started to learn more about the roots of yoga and yoga philosophy - it helped me feel less reactive, more compassionate, and more able to take life in my stride.
Over the years, what has really changed my life is how yoga has sorted my head out.
Yoga started as a form of exercise and became a way of being. And the clouds began to lift.
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to yoga, so I teach a variety of styles — from dynamic vinyasa flow to slower meditative practices. Whatever the style, my classes are warm and welcoming, with space to explore, breathe and simply be.
My first yoga teacher training was in Vinyasa and Hatha yoga, since then I’ve continued to deepen my practice through studying yoga in the UK, India and beyond.
I’ve now been teaching yoga for over ten years.
I’m a 500h+ yoga teacher, with additional trainings in prenatal yoga, breathwork, yoga philosophy and anatomy. And I’m a level 3 certified Thai Yoga Massage therapist.
My teaching is playful but grounded, with a strong emphasis on breath awareness. I believe yoga has the power to change the world, one person at a time.
We spend so much of our lives rushing from one thing to the next, with our minds constantly chattering away. For me, yoga is an opportunity to slow all of that down — to become more present, find joy in movement and connect more fully with ourselves and the world around us.
When I’m not on the mat, you’ll usually find me outside - heading out to the woods or the hills, pottering in the garden (did I mention I’m also a garden designer?) and finding any excuse to be out in nature.
See you in class soon
